Dale Mackel brings a wealth of knowledge both in finance and healthcare to the OrthoNebraska team.

A Nebraska native, Dale received his Bachelors of Science in Finance from the University of Nebraska at Kearney before going on to obtain his Masters of Business Administration at the University of Iowa. He has held executive positions with a multitude of healthcare-focused organizations.

Most recently, Dale served as Chief Financial Officer at Omaha National Group, a $200M private equity backed workers’ compensation insurance carrier serving small-to-midsize businesses across the nation. Prior to that, he was Executive Vice President, CFO & Treasurer at LHC Group Inc., a multi-billion dollar publicly traded Home Health and Hospice provider with a national footprint.

Dale’s vast experience also includes his time as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President with BlueCross BlueShield of Nebraska (BCBSNE ) in Omaha for more than three years. While at BCBSNE, he led the development and achievement of key financial objectives to ensure improved financial performance and liquidity, oversaw the creation of new insurance products, and developed and executed new strategic initiatives. Prior to BCBSNE, he served as Chief Financial Officer and market president of Coventry Health Care of Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota where he was accountable for all strategic, operational and financial aspects.
